Good morning to all, I am a mechatronics student and for an exam I was asked to devote a project in ansys multiphysics 13.0. I chose to study the behavior of a motorcycle brake disc during braking and would be interested in getting the braking space to vary friction coefficient with the crayon and speed of the motorcycle. I have problems with defining load step, substep and initial conditions. the model is very simple and includes a disk without holes consisting of shell elements and a 3d pastel from solid elements. the goal is to rotate the disk (with the detached pastel) and then drop the batter to the contact and analyze the strip distance to the disk-pastilla interface in order to estimate the braking space. varying friction coefficient and initial angular speed you would like to compare the various results in order to obtain graphs of the braking space according to these parameters.
the main problem is that I am not sure that I have correctly implemented the initial speed (I used the cmomega command for the first load step); I also have no clear how to choose the appropriate number of load step and substep. the chart of the strip distance between disk and pastilla seems correct but that of the rotation of the central node of the disk (in correspondence to the axis of the wheel) does not present a deceleration, which instead I would have expected.
I attach here the command file and drawings to import for those who want to help me with these problems that I do not succeed in solving after several exhausting attempts. are well accepted tips/criticals to the list. It's the first job with this program, and these topics weren't very explained to us in class so having done almost everything alone, I'm sure there will be errors or inaccuracies. thanks in advance for availability and collaboration.
