hello to all, I am new to solidworks (2009sp.0) and for so long my knowledge is at the base level. made this due clarification (:finger:) I have the following problem:

I created a spring and I have to put it on a shock absorber in a set and move everything. I need a spring animation (no physique) that allows me to stretch/slip the spring.

when I built the spring I introduced plans to saw it at the extremities all regulated by simple equations inside the equations tool. I realized that I could create two config, so a "extended wheel" and a "compressed spring", but if I do it the values that insert seem to remain both on one side and on the other unfortunately, I definitely mistake something in creating the two configurations!

Then I have to put it all in the axieme, the amortizer I assembled it in two pieces (saw and guide) and for now in the animation I can fly as I want this object. Now I would like to apply the spring, in practice I should put in the spring time line the same time that employs the shock stroke, only that I do not see how to feed the variable of the length of the coil. I guess I should assign to him at a zero time the compressed spring configuration and at the time 1 extended spring configuration and he automatically make the transition in animation but I don't know just how to do unfortunately.

Does anyone want to enlighten me on this aspect?
In the meantime, thank you all.
Good job

Hi.

I don't know why but now spring regeneration in the two configurations work, so the problem is how to use them in animation.

It seemed to me to remember, but I'm not sure, that the spring cannot be animated in compression/extension during animation but only regenerated into the frame of interest animation, is it right? so the only alternative is perhaps to change the spring by pretending that you will flood or notice with a variable cutting plan (actually the step does not vary)

If instead I use a spring from the study tool of movement I can do something that you remember a spring? I guess it's just a symbolic spring.

The question intrigues me because with think I managed to do animation with the spring, and as sw I like as a program it would seem strange if you could not.
