as modelers 3d uhmm... there are
freecad http://www.freecadweb.org/ that seems to be very good and allows to do a little everything
gcad3d gcad3d.org who say it's the best.. I opened it one time and it seems ostic to me, but if you're practical with English you should take something out.
blackcad http://narocad.com/ who say is practically the best 3d modeler for single parts, but does not allow to make assemblies
