Hello, everyone. I have 3 problems with the said cad.
I press that it has been for 2 years now that I no longer use autocad, so maybe they are simple commands finished in the forgotten.
I have the following questions to ask you:
- how to calculate the area of a polygon without clicking on all the vertices?
- once I used to make a retino inside the polygon, I clicked "properties" of the retino, and I got out the area... It doesn't work here, why?
- How can I make a line group a polyline? (besides the "region" command)
- to create a uniform color retino, I have to do: "tracting > filling > mirare every time the pocket between "key" and "scuro" (which nervous)? or is there a faster method?

you better turn your polylinear into polyline:
menu: change -> object -> multiline
reply you and select join
now you can select all lines in one shot and generate polylinea
Come out or press esc.
for reading the value of the area you have two methods:
instruments -> interrogation -> calculaarea
select the object option
now select with the mouse your polygon (which is a polyline)
the software will provide you with area and perimeter.
or simply select polylinea and look at the value of the area indicated in the property panel.

I did not understand the problem of filling.
Just select:
drawing -> sampling/filling
Select
Select the color
and then select point or object and then select the polygon with the mouse (or what you want to fill).

If you have to calculate the net area of a whole floor, will you convert all the inner sides of the masonry with this procedure you told me?
is there a faster way to get the area?

to say, I remembered that you could do "filling", click inside the rooms, you created a filling, then in the properties came out the area of that filling (and therefore the net area of the floor).
but I'm not able to do it on my schedule... :

as I said the transformation is still very fast because the boundary lines of each wall can be transformed into polylinea in a single stroke.
probably it might be worth retracing the contours with a polylinea or trying to always use the polylines to draw the contours.
Honestly, I don't think there are any other possibilities.
it is possible to create the regions but then it does not seem to me that there is a command like massprop (or propmass depending on the language) that allows to obtain in one blow only the sum of all the area.
It's a shame that you can't do what you ask more immediately but if you can arrange a little at the end the price to pay (in terms of time) is not so high.

I created an unprintable and frozen layer, so I always have polylines without interfering with the design.

on revit theoretically you do so automatically, in the sense that the program puts lines that then read to return the surface that immediately brings you back with a text, but not always works and sometimes these particular lines you have to give it to manum...... :smile:

but with autocad you can also make use of the regions or fillings (using the retino).
if you have so many sets of closed lines (typically walls) with the region command turn them all into regions and requiring the properties of the whole regions (with propmass, just select everything) you get directly the sum of all areas.
practically do everything with a couple of commands.

Instead, using a retino you can only define an internal point for each element and make everything retire. select the retino and read directly from the properties the total area.

at the end anyway the solution of the polylinese is more than good.
you lose a few minutes once to create them and amen.
Then you can always change without having to explode.
Using draftsight, I think it's a habit of using polylines to draw walls.

the linux and mac versions are still beta.
a no more beta version will come out when it is not known.

Good morning to all,

I am seriously thinking of using only draftsight but in everyday use I find myself in trouble, all in all, for one function: that of the glue on the original coordinates, present in autocad 200x but that I do not find in draftsight.

help me understand how you can do to replace this function?

hello to all;
I also use draftsight as support for part 2d;
I have a problem that I can't solve: we abandoned autocad (98) and now I am in trouble having to manage the groups in draftsight;
How can I explode them and turn them into a block? the exploding command fails to delete groups, idem for the command (keyboard) groupobjects.
Do you have any solutions?

Have you ever used the filling with draftsight? I tried to use this function, using two colors and transparency; everything works well, but if I close and reopen the file the filling is replaced by a "solid" dash. Have you ever had similar experiences? Is there a way to solve the problem? I add that I am using the 2016 version for windows.
