driver video card not recognized by autocad 2011

Good morning to all, I have a problem with managing the video card from autocad pate. the notebook in question has a video card ati hd6490m from 1024mb. the drivers are up to date but the autocad keeps not taking it and uses the shared card. from config3d in fact I find only the shared card.any one knows how to help me? Thank you!

it would be better to specify the name and model of the laptop or at least the type of graphics card integrated.
I don't know if it's your case but I had a laptop asus with integrated intel hd3000 flanked by nvidia gt540m, where the same problem you described occurs, autocad continues to use the hd3000, a real crap.
try to update the drivers of the hd3000 intel and verify the ability to force the use of the ati through the various tools that give supplied to the laptop.

every 5 minutes ago a black screen for a few seconds then I get a message (from so) that does about like this: "The video intel graphics accelerator driver stopped working and was restored." in general it is slow in entering the keyboard commands.
the thing has improved since I recorded the installation but the problem has basically remained.
I have not installed autocad update yet
with revit 2012 instead goes great, above expectations. . .
looks like you don't want to see the nvidia card
if you disable the intel card and restart, it starts in video mode with incorrect resolution and not editable and the nvidia card no longer sees...

I join... I have a recent asus and instead I just have to open pro/e that uses nvidia. but on rhino passes from one to another graphic chip with too much ease and I am not sure but could be the cause of some sporadic crash. I tried both via driver/pannello energy management and via bios but I didn't find any rumors about it to disable the intel.

edit: I answer myself and if you need someone: nvidia control panel --> manage 3d settings --> global settings --> default graphic processor --> *select high performance nvidia processor"

or customize the mode for each application.

Thank you very much for the answer! I confirm that also for the ati card you must set manually from the card management program.

then I finally found a compromise to overcome the continuous stops for errors of the primary card, I repeat only with autocad (revit goes great)

1) uninstalled autocad and removed well also with pccleaner
2) installed updated card drivers (from samsung manufacturer website)
3) reinstalled autocad (maintained my license so I didn't have to re-register it)

compared to first autocad saw me nvidia in a more complete way but the error continued to manifest itself

4) in the nvidia management program I added autocad in the program list and set "high performance nvidia process"

still error.. .

5) I disabled graphic acceleration

is a whole day that I finally work without any interruption

I obviously have no idea if working with 3d elements and rendering works well as these things I do with revit, autocad I only use it for 2d...

I look forward to other experiences about it

I had the same problem despite the drivers being all up to date. I couldn't explain. I have a hp pavilion dv6 notebook pc, intel core i7-2630qm 2.00 ghz, 8 gb ram with mobile video cards intel hd graphics and radeon hd 6770m.

I set the high performance option for the video card but nothing. then through the config3d command in autocad2012 ---> manual adjustment I activated the hardware acceleration. problem solved.

I hope this post helps someone else.

I tried to disable the hardware acceleration of autocad 2012 and also tried to insert in the list of nvidia programs "acad.exe" and maximum performance selection. I don't know what to do.

I am desperate because in two days I have an important delivery. .
