Hello everyone,
I am an engineering student struggling with the thesis to finally end with the three-year term.
I press that by necessity I have acquired from self-taught my knowledge about ansys workbench and that before you submit the problem that for days blocks me, I have done as much as possible (between tutorials, guides and articles) to solve it from me.
as from title I must perform a drop test concerning a simple packing (a parallelepipedo) in abs of the thickness of 6mm (made by 3d printer).
the problem is that, despite having checked everything, launched the solution the packaging remains always and still still, not "falls".
I will shortly list the procedure I have followed
in design modeler:
-executed the packaging sketch on design modeler I extruded and got the first solid.
-with a second sketch and extrusion I realized the second solid, which represents the ground, 100mm away from the first.
- I have imposed by thin/surface the thickness of 6mm to the packaging.
in mechanical:
-from the tree outline, in "geometry", I set the abs material for the packaging leaving "flexible" inside of stiffness behavior
and I set concrete as material for the ground but with "rigid" behavior.
- within "connections" I set contact with friction between bodies with coeff. 0.5.
-I meshato using the automatic method but with different element size for the two bodies.
- as "initial conditions" I set the only initial speed, e.g. 50mm/s.
-in "analisys settings" I set, a "end time" of 0.0001 seconds, leaving unchanged the maximum number of cycles.
-I set the solid ground com "fixed support" (it makes me select it entirely since I imposed "rigid" behavior)
- I've inserted gravity acceleration.
The resolution came to this point, for example for total deformation, but once obtained nothing happens. packing color according to the specified values but remains immobile.
I don't understand where I'm wrong, I hope you can help me, I can't finish otherwise.
Thank you in advance.
