I have a problem with a complex surface.
has many narrow curvatures (such as fittings) and when I make an external offset many offset surfaces tend to tangle with each other, so I thought I'd smooth out some of the starting curvatures but I don't know what commands to use for not doing too much damage.
suggestions?

There are several commands you can use.

_fitsrf: reduces the ev of a surface (simplifying) within a given tolerance.

_removecontrolpoint : eliminates an isoparametric from a surface, to be used in very dense areas of the surface

_removeknot: etc.ec. search on the internet and google...

the worst flaw of rhino is that it has hundreds of useful commands and an online help too spartan and synthetic

I have somehow solved the problem of the envelopement but I remain unpolished surfaces that exported as step or iges on top of them deform, are not closed, are far from being smooth and make me fail the extrusion features or put them with other solids.
Is there a way to take the surfaces that I have laboriously built all beautiful trimmed in rhino and join them in something decent?
