Good morning to all, my name is enrico and I am working with the software msc patran 2012 and msc dytran 2012 for my thesis. It is a simulation of an explosion and interaction with a frp barrier, therefore a problem of interaction between eulerian and lagrangiani materials. I'm trying to make a simple case of interaction with a framed beam. the problem, never found before for other exercises I did, is that when I start the analysis patran does not create me dat and bdf files! I don't know where to bang my head because it doesn't report any mistakes. the only thing I managed to do is a screenshot of the moment the analysis starts. I put it in the annex. I hope in a solution. thanks to all in advance

after several attempts the problem remains. doing other analysis the problem is not there. The absurd thing is that it doesn't give me the dat and the bdf. I think the problem is "coupling" and the formation of fictitious surfaces. Now as now I would like to simulate the interaction of a shelf with a shock wave. the shelf has 200 el in x 20 in y and 1 in z because I want a problem plan of effort. therefore model the shelf and the environment (also this with only one element in z). when I have to select the mating surface the 2 "lateral" zones should not interact because I want the interaction only with the front and upper face of the shelf. I must therefore create fictitious surfaces to close the surface for coupling. (the manual says that mating sup.s must create a positive volume). done all that imposed the analysis, I turn but it freezes after very little and does not generate the impt files for dytran. I'm desperate enough!! doing the same problem in 3d instead everything works because I do not create the fictitious surfaces but I simply do for coupling all the faces of the beam.

Can someone explain to me how this imaginary "coupling" works?

I ask for help! !
