Hello
I should save a 3d in an importable format in catia but I would like geometries not to be editable, i.e. I have to provide the graphic look like the definitive product, mountable in a chain set but I do not want to give it real geometric data so that it can get sensitive information!

Any suggestions?

singular question. it must be able to use it as a component in a set, but it must not be able to measure the actual geometric data of the component.
send him a radius ball 10^(-8) mm with stick the texture of the final product! assemble it you can and to measure it you struggle.
I apologize for the easy joke, but I think you mean a process of removing some features of your product. I think you should "simplify" and/or "remove" some features you think contain your precipice know-how and provide them with a fac-simile model. the procedure is obviously manual.
If he has to assemble the piece in his set, how can you not give him at least the bulk of your piece? Then, maybe, who knows, there is some other way, I am still at the first .step :smile:

Unfortunately depending on others it sometimes involves looking for hot water at -273 °c!!! (especially if they don't want to listen to you)

the idea is to have a file with systems that allow the assembly (reference axes, support plans.....) and with a geometry "visually" and with "maximum inlays" similar to the original but as the only entity of difficult control (e.g. a stl is not always managed by cad)

I never had such a need, in any case I would try to insert a .asm in the main set in which with the functions public geometry and copying importing geometry planes, axes, surfaces and all that is needed, at the end I would make an iges of this last one.

I may not understand what you mean, but what you say I get it with a direct iges of my main asm, the surfaces are always editable

with the direct iges carry everything, while with the system I have described you can choose what to show, for example you can iclude only the external faces of the surfaces, for which the recipient has only an idea of the form, but inside the project there is nothing.
