extraction features mechanical parts

Hi, I'm a mechanical engineering student currently in train in a mechanical company.
are involved with a design project of mechanical parts to be carried out on solidworks cad.
I would like to know if it is possible to extract from solidworks cad the features (quotes, tolerances, xyz position, length and width) in xml files (as well as excel tables) so that you can recognize them via visual basic/pro vision software (to allow their automatic modification directly in the working phase of the piece that is designed).... or do vice versa (xml-> solidworks file)
for example are there macros that allow me to perform this function??? or through the use of any software?? ?
Sorry for the untechnical language but this depends on my still low experience with these software ....

Hi, Frank.
I've had some experience about it, in solidworks you can control the model through a table, this can be internal to solidwoks (table configurations) or external (excel, acces, etc., programs in vb.net, c#, etc.).
for excel-acces-word the important thing is that they have a vba on which to write a macro that aims at solidworks.
for vb.net - c# write a program\macro always with references to solidworks .
In all cases the macro will change the values of the quotas according to the values of the table, updating the model, here however the model will have to be studied in such a way that the change of value of the quotas do not generate errors in reconstruction, everything is to manage the constraints well. you may even start from scratch if you want to create a new document, draw a sketch, extrude it, select a face and create another sketch and proceed with your features, no one prevents you; this requires a huge knowledge of programming and modelling management.
Solidworks bees also provide you with the possibility of questioning the model and obtaining:
- moments of inertia
- mass
- weight
- mass center
- etc.

Hello, thank you very much for your help... know where to find tutorials for creating macro /api for vb.net-c#. especially where can I find macros already ready for the extraction of features or cup directly from the macros of the piece on solidworks?? ? ?

for the manual you have to refer to the manual bees of solidworks found in the drop-down menu "?"->" bee-line guide".
macros already ready for these things do not think you will find something, also because it depends on what you have to build as a model.

I don't understand what you mean by "the extraction of features", if you want to get mass, mass center, moments of inertia, then find everything in the manual bees.
