I often find myself having the need to create sub-assembly that I then use in general assembly; all normal here.

wanting to make the opposite speech, that is to create sub-assembly from a larger set, are there functions that allow to extrapolate a group and save it for his own affairs?

Yes.

you must use the "move in sub-assembly" command when you have selected a number of components later (also subassiems) from the model tree.
But look at the references you give, because you bring behind all the series of external references that I recommend you to disassemble and remake the subassembly by hand.

I never use that command.
