family window metric, poblem horizontal cutting plan

hi to everyone are new to the forum and software, use revit for a few weeks and I started trying to design some elements like doors and windows, but on this last I am experiencing various difficulties.
in the first instance I have a problem on the horizontal cutting plane because after designing the windows, recessed and anything else if I try to raise its threshold from the finished floor, high the view of the plant in fact moves me the project from the floor plan to the countertop. Can you tell me what I'm not evaluating to design properly?

ps: I have noticed that the window can be designed in two ways or with the simple extrusion or with the extrusion on the path I am finding myself well with the simple extrusion, I don't know maybe that could be the problem?
