fem free win

Bye to all,
I'm looking for a free sw fem that only spins on win for linear static analysis.
I look for a simple thing as an interface that allows me to import mathematicians (parts or assemblies) in step or parasolid, apply some strength and constraints and analyze stress and def.
they recommended me calculix but I would also like to hear your opinion.

I'm trying freecad 0.18... it doesn't look bad side fem

for simple analysis I also recommend you freecad with the calculix module... simple, fast and free

alsovionuso and I recommend you freecad that has the integrated calculix module. We talked about it on the forum.

normally use solidworks both to model and to make linear fem. when instead I have to make fem not linear use calculix in freecad and I am well. clearly it's a little bit scary and slow but you can work.

I am not a freecad user ... but in general a negative jacobiano is index of a bad mesh that brought one or more elements to be distorted and for this reason the solutor fails to make the transition from local coordinates of the node to global model for the calculation of the movements .. that are the only true output of a fem.

clean the step file from fittings, bevels and and any other element unnecessary and mesh should improve

Hi, I figured it was mesh. but it is not possible to clean it as mathematics is from design.
If I had to clean it, I'd miss a working day
I tried to put it in order to better follow the curvatures but nothing.

you could try to leverage the second order from the meshatura options. It usually works.
press ok and exit the window. click on the side shaft and see the manual options there are.

I wanted to ask you too ... but I desisted ... I guess it means that the file comes in step format and cannot or is not authorized or does not want to simplify it.
