fence: extrusion on path or railing?

hi to all, having to reproduce the fence in the enclosed photo I was wondering if the most practical thing to do is an extrusion on path (which I never tried to make directly in the model but only in the family editor) or a railing.
in the latter case should I create a family of panels balustrades? I tried to create a railing profile made as in the second image, but I couldn't load it. . .
as you can see the fence has rear mounts and the profile is continuous, except for the points in which it makes a right angle and ends on rectangles.
thanks in advance for the advice.

neither balustrade nor extrusions. attribute that profile to the railing currents!

I tried, I created a new family metric profile - railing, but when I go to the properties of the new type of railing that I created (duplicating and modifying one of those available) in current structure: edit, I can't insert in the profile choice what I created, I have as availability only the four defaults.
By the way, as I use the 2010 version, first I forgot to specify it.

I opened the profile family I created and in "parameters and categories of families" is already selected as "profile use" -> generic.
You mean that? I'm sorry, but I'm at an elementary level of revit use...

I mean, if he doesn't show you, it means he has a problem. Are you sure the profile is closed?

Yes, the profile is closed. I try to do it again from the metric profile template instead of the profile railing. as soon as done I will post the result.

I succeeded, I created a generic profile family and attributed it to currents (img_1).
But now another problem has arisen: the fence passes over a ground that has variations of level (img_2), can it be followed by the incination of the topographic surface?
Anyway thank you so much for the previous tips!

try to put under the ground a insole of the width of a few cm, if the soil rises or drops the slope,
and use it as a barrier host
