Good morning to all
I have many created drw files (I think from pro-e ) in 1998, I would like to open them and save them in pdf the problem is that I tried with a version of pro-e
but they don't open.
from the file you can understand with which version was created? because surely the version from which I tried to open them is more recent than the file, but I do not understand why it does not open.
Who can help me?

What version are you trying to open them? Do you open them in full or just "view only"? proe is always able to open the drw saved with previous versions.

try to open the drw with any text block. to me from qs info to string 12 [allego immagine]The fact that you can't open them with a newer version seems very strange... What message does that give you? Is it not that there is a student license by chance and you lose compatibility with files? relative 3d files (prt and asm) damage problems in their opening?
is it not that by chance 3ds were renamed on disk without its drw file being in session (and then re-saved)?

If I don't remember you do what calacc told you, instead of a readable text you will find a sequela (apparently) meaningless ascii characters (crypted)

Maybe I confused you the ideas, the juice of the speech is that the possible cads that generated the drawings are:

1) proe student edition

2) micrografx vector graphic

Unfortunately I do not know pro-e (I am expert in catia v5) and I do not want them to open because there are no relative solids.
with catia you can open even without the solid just do not update the drawing and save them pdf.
can be opened without its solid?

I'm not sure, you can do a test and open it in just display to see if it makes you open the same without solids...
click ctrl+o, select the drw file, click next to the open button where there is a downward arrow (you should open a curtain), then click on display only.
try so then let us know

or send a file (the smallest, so you are reasonably sure that it does not contain the study of a whole machine) and feed it to forumers.... Some little bugs sure understands who generated the file

I tried to open the file with 2 different types (I did not pro-and helped me a colleague )

- impossible to recover 'prog-old'. ( error message)

- tried to open with pro/e type “wildfire” vers. 3.0 and with pro/e type “creo” vers. 2

try to "sweep it", compress it.

is certainly not proe, the first line (#ugc:2 drawing .....) is not its and also the size (8 kb) are too small; never seen a drw below 50 kb.

Thanks for the answer, but I thought the .drw files were pro-e, I should open many of these files created in 1998 and I don't know what program they were created with.
