file format

Good morning to all,
I have a weird problem. . .
from a company send me a file in catia format I open them with catia and save them in .stp format and open them with pro_e.
I try to save them in .stp format this morning but with pro_e you don't see them.. .
But if I've always done so I can't?
pro_e version w3
Catia v4 r18.
