file step from superfi to solid

Good morning.

I would have two commercial pieces in step that I can't convert into solids in any way with inventor 2014, someone with a newer version could politely try to open them in hope that by magic they appear as solids?

I threw a bear to play with the surfaces but I couldn't get anything. for the project itself is not a problem to leave the components as surfaces, but the final customer wants some pictures and I'm trying them all to not have to redesign the brake

models have open surfaces, it is not a rel or the other that save you.
I opened them with 2017 and nothing changes.
as note in margin, I would say that the "management" of the surfaces of rel. 2014 I like much more than that of rel 2017.
in these cases there is only rhino that can help you, not automatically but you can fix every error or lack on time and regenerate the solid you need.
to the eye, I would say there are 2/3 hours to fix the two models.

I would say that the project goes ahead with the surface models and the brake will become a nice extruded cylinder for the images to give to the customer, if I really feel in artistic vein I will make a radius....... .

of similar discussions there are already different ones, and the problem of the steps to open surfaces is frequent, so that it gives me a curiosity:
with which cad have the various steps been created?
files from commercial sites will never know anything, but from files converted by other non-inventor modelers yes.
so much to know who generates the most indigested steps for inventor.. .

My customers always give me very well-made stp files, generally with catia.
Bad ones are almost always igs, the same object reinviatomi in stp, generally, passes much better.
the attached steps are lacking of too many surfaces, I do not believe that it is an export problem, I think it is wanted or due to the fact to remove, rightly, details for safeguarding property, without paying much attention to what you do.

personally I rarely get into commercials with brass models, when it happens to me it's always with products on the market for several years.

I tried to ask the supplier before posting here, but the two attachments are all I've been able to give me without any extra information, it seems to get the blood out of the kidnappers to ask for something that is not a layout with a number... .

going on newer products instead, give without problems solid models that do not create problems

He thinks that sometimes I also offered to repair them and give them to suppliers to replace them to their ugly brute.
