find a design solution: how do you do that?

Hello everyone,
from the following image I must realize, as model cad, this industrial padding.the problem lies in hypothesize a design solution for piece 7 (carter).

for all pieces I worked, of course, in sketch tracer, tracing geometries and exploiting the features of tree. for the 7th, however, I have hypothesized the following products, but each one has a defect:
on this piece I would have difficulty creating the back "scaline" that you see in the sectional projection (also I don't think you can realize mechanically)on this other, given that I see useless the upper parallelepiped (at the functional level), I would have the problem of the inner chord (i.e. when I go to create the connection below, on that "scaline", this would be created also in the front, which can not have).this is the easiest to achieve but there is the problem related to the creation of the lower step.

Can someone of good will enlighten me?

ps. if you can help, this is a draft of the complete product (many pieces are to be remade, like the toothed wheels), - placed the link for the limit exceeded of 4 images-:http://s28.postimg.org/isyne5wf1/immagine.jpg

Hello everyone,
from the following image I must realize, as model cad, this industrial padding.the problem lies in hypothesize a design solution for piece 7 (carter).
you have to work for subsequent operations, i.e. you have to do various work on your solid, addition and subtraction, until you get the desired result. in the attached image you find a possible solution.

question: did you do the caia exercises you find in the guide included in the software?
