can you recommend a free converter from pdf to dwg to be able to get back from a pdf print of a design, the dwg with lines etc of the original design without having to remake it as head?
thanks for the availability.

The subject was dealt with in this debate, and also in others:http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=861in the past I did some tests with wintopo that didn't work bad.
Keep in mind that however the result is far from ideal, you can get a mix of lines and curves that then you have to re-set manulamente, not to mention quotas texts and tables.
You just have to check if you don't want to do everything from scratch.

Bye.

If you want to get decent things you have to go on stuff for a fee.
Have you tried with inkscape (free illustrator)?

progecad says:
thanks to pdf2dwg, progecad converts vector pdf files into editable dxf/dwg. lines, shapes, texts imported from the pdf file can be modified in progecad as objects originating in the design cad. smart recognition of true type fonts and line thicknesses.
if the pdf file contains objects subdivided into layers, this subdivision and all the properties of the elements are kept in the cad file.
thanks to this functionality it is possible to import drawings and details from catalogues, manuals, existing projects without the need to have original designs.http://www.progesoft.com/it/l/converti-pdf-a-dwg/free download 30-day trial progecad and test and dicci
