free orbit pin does not follow the mouse pointer

i inventor 2009
I searched for posts but found nothing for my case

I would like to follow the free orbit command pin with the mouse pointer without pressing the free orbit wheel button and then ctrl to place the pin in another point (or by clicking center with free orbit)
this because I stay more comfortable using the mouse 3d connexion

in the pc with windows 7 and inventor 2009 the pin follows the mouse

in the pc with windows xp and inventor 2009 the pin does not follow the mouse remains as previously set

Why?
How can I solve this problem?
