from autocad 3d to microstation

Good morning to all
I press that I am new and I am not very practical of your forum,
but over time I will have a way to do it and since I found many interesting debates that would make me comfortable for my work, I will come back more often.

I come to the
we did a job in 3d (piping 3d) using autocad 3d with an application suitable to design the piping... and so far no problem,
the problem now is that the customer necessarily wants you to bring everything done in cad3d in the program their intergraph (dgn file extension)
So the question is how to do it? Does anyone know studies that could help me?
I thank you for your attention and I greet you

Bye-bye.

it comes to mind that with a solid format you could solve, try exporting from autocad to sat and import to m. should support it.

a. export to dgn?

It's a known problem. in our sector.
the first question is: do you have to export to microstation a "intelligent" model or only geometry? if your model made in autocad + (cadworx? or exasperated? o ?) must be imported into pds and the customer wants to be able to also have information then you have a problem. a possibility (to check) consists in converting the file using information produced by a roamer such as naviswork and, with appropriate tools, obtain geometry and data in microstation. I have no direct experience but it has already been made to convert patterns to pds/microstation j).
if instead it is only the geometry to have to be exported, autocad 2010 can save directly (export) in .dgn format, not always functional but you can try.
Alternatively you can export .dxf (version 2000) and reimport in microstation/j. of course only geometry, no info.

See you soon.

I quite frankly remember, I spent a few years, but maybe it goes through a more recent microstation version and then exports to dgn v7; the import of the dwg into the old versions has always given problems because the igds format is very limited ( many features of autocad were not supported ). maybe you could be useful modeler v7 (many model features were integrated into later versions, but the 3d model support in v7 was a little limited (I don't remember if there was already parasolid or was still on acis )

because the user berryww, probably has to export to pds, at least so I understand when I read:
"in their intergraph program (dgn file extension)"
Therefore the latest version of microstation that supports pds is the j (or 7.1 if you want).
Moreover, although unlikely, some commands may not be supported in the last versions, what written by marco to post n° 5 I did, and precisely with naviswork.
but not on pds but on pdms.
in any case this is an old 3ad, of 2011, so the user berryww probably solved.

Hi.
In fact, this thread is completely dismissed, I responded to some messages and now I don't understand anything anymore.

And you're not the only one
I will be a thousand thousand thousand years that I do not understand + nothing, I have learned to accept this:)
