Good morning to all,
I ask help to understand what could be the best flow from solid edge to rfa.
to consider that the designer works with himself and the investor with rvt, so I would like to avoid other intermediate software (e.g. inventor).
I've already dealt with the matter here... thanks in advance to every contribution!

hello tristan and thanks,
Yes, I did a little test and if it were to "link" you could stay in ifc, but as it seems, if I want to make a family, I go sat by myself and amount directly into the rfa family.
I will keep the discussion up to date, in case I find more ideas.
I hope that ships and the whole post-if world will not give me boredom

Good morning to all,
I call the debate. after several tests and it is essential to understand whether we will have the need to change the object once inserted into revit; from here everything starts.
  • If not: in revit you can choose whether to "link" (link) the file or "import" (import cad). This last option allows you to have a single rvt file with attached increase of the heaviness. if you connect, being a link, it will be much lighter. you can directly import the sat.
  • If yes: you can always benefit from the two insertion options, but I would say that the best solution was to create my family, passing through a plugin that amounts the step. it is called step matter ( step importer for autodesk® revit® | revit | autodesk app store ) In this way I can act on families and change the level of detail, etc. and change its shape in a second time. with the sat this was not possible. only flaw? today the plugin is not released for revit 2023.
Thank you all for your help.
