currently smarteam has the best integration with sw on the market.I heard internal voices at dassault saying that dassault itself stopped the development of smarteam in favor of matrix-one.

What do you think of the two products as we are evaluating them and they seem equivalent to me.

for what I know smarteam is part of the v5 platform, which is developed and maintained, while matrix (or as it is now called enovia v6) is part of the v6, piataform which is the future of ds.
Keep in mind that sw is also of the ds for which .....
a lot depends on what you want to do and manage.

matrix use for over 15 years and is still a great framework to develop business processes but I perfectly agree with the above: the basis of a good pdm is the native integration with the cad so I too today would opt for smarteam.Hello dolfin,

the matrix module will have different characteristics, ideal for much larger companies, for companies with many delocalized locations where for example there are problems of synchronized operation.
always from what seemed to me to understand, matrix used by pdm for a technical office is inefficient, as it is not born to cover the classic needs of a company (integration cad for example) and in this case dassault recommends both modules (smartem+matrix) as a matrix is not expected to manage them even in the future.
therefore theoretically smarteam is the right choice for an average pdm/plm, and should have for the future the guarantee of continuous development because it will also enter the v6 as a matrix and vpn. Moreover if the company needs to grow, it would be enough to add the matrix module without too many traumas.
Is this my interpretation correct?
