Given that I do not know anything about microstation, having to use it in the future I have a lot of confusion. Maybe the questions I ask are stupid, but just because I can't direct myself. I heard about v8 and triforma, I also remember architecture. . but are different versions that serve for different purposes? or is it the same program? triforma perhaps is an additional plugin? Here I would like someone to have the patience to explain to me how it works to be able to direct me a little bit. . .

According to me microstation is a cad 2d with 3d possibilities though of course not parametric, easy learning.
Some functions are always simpler than in autocad such as printing management.
Triforma microstation is a module for three-dimensional architectural design and metric compute but it is not of my interest and therefore I do not know it.
architecture is also a building information modeling i.e. a module like triforma and I don't know what differences can be.
there is then another package for rendering but I do not remember the name.

Hello exa :d
only recently with the latest versions the 2d micro became fiko.................. First there was to shoot!! !
I think it is a very good generalist.

strength points:
1) excellent reference management
2) easy learning (especially if you haven't passed by autocad before)
3) 3d higher, (excluding render) with possibility to dissect the model, in my way to see better than autocad
4) excellent reliability. never lost data on micro
5) great management views and/or drawing windows to have 3d vision better than what you are doing

weak points:
1) printing management (exa school but I always preferred autocad)
2) poor customization and adaptability, and e.g. if I wanted to find autocad lisp vagonates, not for micro, which also has its programming language mdl
3) bad management of levels, with excellent characteristics that however brought to many limits:(.................. before there was the limit of 66 accidents
4) texts and quotas, which should now have been improved
5) incomprehensible online help

I should use micro in-depth on the latest versions, which I can't do now, to see if some things have been improved, and less bad that they put osnap.

on triforma, architecture etc. etc. I don't say.

@giancarlo75
then everything also depends on what you have to do, in which working environment you will have to try.

Hi.

Hello everyone!

seen the levels of update on microstation we also want to talk about autocad 9?

Hi.
Hello dear :-)
Mah, I left the v8 so on the previous ones I don't say.
I agree that it is easier for those who have not matured experience with autocad and reliability (automatic rescue has saved me several times).
there are no additional modules (at least for ordinary mortals, from what I know the faux if it makes them do...) the help does cacare (beati the users of solidworks), but it is not indispensable. for me texts and quotas are fine while the management of prints is very simple.
as you see, among users of the same product, there are conflicting opinions.
I'm not a big micro connoisseur. I use it because I have never done courses of any kind and therefore with all the limits that this entails, but now I am trying to do everything with creo, even what I have always done with micro, even if they are different worlds.

I have departed from 5:(

Perhaps they have improved (in the last versions) also texts and quotas, it was time, I agree instead on the judgment of the help.
Maybe they even improved the print :d
and yes I confirm....... fake (and not only) if you make them do the additional modules.
