Bye to all,

I use td for almost 20 years and now for the first time I find myself in trouble to the customer! reason: a structure formed by components (some created by me and others imported from databases on the internet) I find myself generating stp files of 300/400 mb when at the same time as "weight" other software employ 70/80 mb.

Is there a set to stream the file?

Thank you.

Good morning.

Usually in exports/imports any problems can be related to the correctness and quality of the exported/imported, not so much to the size of the files.

What kind of trouble does it make you with the customer? Can't care?

thinkdesign converters are of good quality and keep them updated. What version of thinkdesign are you using?

However the options that can increase the size are to convert the entities to nurbs. are useful if you send the file to someone who has old cads that read only nurbs, but obviously increase the size of the output file. check if you have them active.

for more precise answers you need to enter the merit of the files you are dealing with.

Good morning.
in conversion I never use "as curves nurbs". the file is opened both by the customer and by me in td... only that I can not understand why it becomes so big as size (so difficulty to ship and far reopening times). I thought about managing big assemblies. ..when I create a project study, I insert many modules as external components (so I suppose it is the right management, even if I open two in parallel we saturate the memory to achieve entity). now when I generate a study stp, a file of hundreds of mb comes out. I have seen stp of other software (e.g. proe) much more complex than they do not arrive at 100 mb, that is why I am seriously thinking about something wrong in the management of the project from me. use thinkteam 2014.1.117.20311

Good morning.

As I said the size can depend on the type of math that is saved. a nurbs can weigh much more than one plan for example, and so the size itself is not a comparison parameter.

If you contact me in private and send me an example file, I can be more accurate.

I invite you to update the software, since the 2017 version of thinkdesign is currently released

Thank techspell for support and availability in dealing with this topic. professionalism always pays off!

Hello, I have 2017 in the office, if you want I can make some export proof for you. the td translator is probably the best in circulation, so I doubt that other cad can do better;)
