geometrical resolution of the part

Hello.
what involves reducing the geometric resolution of the part from 1.0e-6 to 1.0e-2 since in the modeling help says that the recommended value is 1.0e-2
Are there contraindications? ?

I have been working for 8 years with the modeling and I have always used the resolution of the part to 1.0e-2, does not involve any type of problem, indeed in the work with the surfacing module and in the import of files igs and stp it is much easier to realize solids.

I see that like me projects molds for sheet metal;
I was amazed to read that you use the resolution at -2 when they recommended the -6!! ! !
to me when it happens to import a solid to -2 work becomes a hell as simple operations like an extrusion or a punching that relate to the imported part give a lot of problems and the birth of parts-faces is natural.
I would like to understand then if the truth lies in the middle!! (10-4? ? ? )
Of course if the work is born and ends at -6 it's okay!! modeling works properly and I am an agguerrito supporter.

I also support this cad, for the rapid design and modification of parts and assemblies. As for the resolution I have always worked with resolution at 10e-2 as default since version 11.65, and always solid amount with the same resolution, have you ever tried to import the same solid with both resolutions? with 10e-6 is a real disaster, while with 10e-2 practically, unless some mistake I find the work already done. I do not know if the truth lies in the middle, 10e-4, but I can tell you that I will continue to work with this resolution, given the simplifications in making the imported parts solid. but is there a real advantage in working with resolution 10e-6?
Anyway, if I need a hand, just give me a whistle.

but look, I tell you that we started with version 15 and told us that the resolution -6 was the most suitable....and sincerely, as I already told you, if you work without depending on any imported file, it goes away that it is a pleasure; I think it's the same pleasure that working at -2. Now, if you depend on an igs or a step, I too am obliged to lower the resolution, but once seen or performed a study with the imported part, finished the job. I never use imported parts, I have to re-execute them considering the effects that generate the production performed with a step mold; consequently they regenerated them to -6. Do you understand the tour? we dom like this and it works. Bye-bye.

ps: Do you use any dedicated module for sheet metal moulds?

As for the re-execution of the piece, you can do it because it is a step-by-step mold, but if you are in transfertized molds as in 95% of my cases, it is practically impossible to realize from scratch the drawing of the piece to be realized (e.g. bottom lvst or front panel whitewashing).

As for the modules, I do not use any additional module for the molds. However, I use the surfacing module, in an in-depth way to make out the figure for funnel and co-design.
