Bye to all,
I wanted to ask you all about the car they proposed to me to work with solidworks 2010 or 2011.

- mother's card intel x58
-processor intel i7-950
-8 gb ram ddr3 1333
-Hd 500 gb
-master dvd
(32 or 64 bit) oem
- Picture pny video card 4000, 2gb ddr5 256bit
(recommended additional power supply in case you opt for
picture pny video card 4000)
or alternatively
-frame video card fx1800 – 768 mb ddr3 – 192bit

according to you is a "good machine" to work with large assemblies or to make lay-out of large plants / automatic machines? ?
do you have advice on special requests to do?

Thank you.

there are some clarifications to make. for core i7 serve multiple ram benches of 3 for which will be 6 or 12 gb. If you make big plants 6 may not be enough.
The new series (2000-4000-5000-6000) promises on the lender card 6 times higher than the previous series thanks to the Cuda technology, I would stay on 4000, if it costs too much go to a 2000, not to the fx 1800.
Intel cards are valid, but normally + lens of competitors. I always go on asus and of this brand there are optimized tabs and studied for workstations (p6t ws pro - p6t ws pro revolution and p6t ws pro supercomputer).
have all the x58 chipset, sas onboard and the last (which ribs about 500 euros) supports the quad sli and besides the x58 chip also has nforce to make the most of the cuda technology.
I would say that already the ws pro is very good and costs little more than 200 euros.

os strictly 64-bit, otherwise you do nothing of 12 gb ram.

I absolutely agree with you on fx1800.
I have recently tried one (with nx of course) mounted on a ho and w7 64 bit...
disappointing graphic performance. . .
4800 is another world...
ps: I had a whole car video...

I'm choking a ssd record

....if you want to go with some oc...io my i920 push it to 4ghz by changing only one parameter in the bios or 4.2ghz by tapping a lot

save a lot of money and go much faster than with a standard cpu (even compared to ee)

ps: in many months of work I have never had problems at 4ghz and sometimes it remains on even the night!

I would like to know those "professional assemblies" that still propose is what (even I see that they are not few)

And I'm quoting everything.
The car is very good.

greetings
Marco:smile:

is another world but also another price (it costs 4 times). I was talking about the new nvidia series just out, taking a picture 2000, model that replaces the fx 1800 framework should be there performance 6 times better. In addition, the cpu should also benefit from the cuda technology.

Thank you very much,
Your answers helped me a lot. I have not yet defined the machine, but at least now I know any alternatives to what has been proposed to me! ! !

Thanks again
