friendly users of the forum,
I was proposed to purchase version 5 of artlantis and I wondered what features were required to make it work best.
not working on a work station but on a pc. artlantis is ready to exploit at best a multicore processor or is a dualcore sufficient? regarding the graphics card, is it advisable a nvidia with cuda or exploit other types of languages?

any suggestion is well accepted.
Thank you.

update: I read that much of the rendering processing is at the expense of the processor while the graphics card only deals with the display of 3d geometries and therefore it would be more useful to orientate on a multicore cpu. Is this statement still true?

Hello cristina1982!
the requirements for artlantis find them at the following linkhttp://www.artlantis.ie/rs_hardware.htmI personally recommend a good i7 4790k and for a long time you are in place 16gb ram and a good professional video card type nvidia picture k2200 or amd firepro w5000 (from what I read artlantis does not support nvidia cuda)

with a shopping around €1400-1600 max comes out a lady workstation.
then if you want to spend less I can try to help you make a set up for the purpose....but you have to tell me what budget you have available.
:smile::smile::smile:

thanks for the suggestion, however I do not intend to buy a work station. I'm interested in upgrading my pc, actually I have to first quantify the budget. As soon as I have defined it, I will come back here and ask for information. :wink:

you actually now your pc begins to feel the weight of the years. in their period the vga and the cpu were of all respect.
for the 3d and the render it takes something more performing...:rolleyes:
