Hello everyone,
I recently discovered this forum where I have seen many experienced users using various programs at a professional level, I would have liked to use this post only to present myself but unfortunately I am encapsulated in a rather strange problem.

dynamics of the problem:
I have more walls in which "opens" are inserted, some are doors, other windows still special openings, I want to emphasize that I am not using the parametric object "door" or "window" but "opens" and its subcategories. When I impose a 3d section I get a annoying mistake.
from the sides of the walls (which are actually polygons) leave lines that arrive to the extremes of the doors, this is in fil mode of iron and hidden lines, at the moment there is no way to make them disappear and therefore the section is completely useless.

My system:
computer: macbook alu 2.0 ghz 2gb
software: vectorworks 2010 student, package designer+ renderworks (use it with the basic scheme) updated just last night.

I hope someone can help me
in any case greetings to all:)

Can you post an image so you can better understand the problem you're talking about?
Why don't you use the walls to insert openings?
I do.

This is a screen where you see the lines too, are the diagonal ones in the foreground.
I have explained badly, I use the walls to make my model, of this I do a section 3d that creates on another shiny a group that is then my section, if I explode the group I have a series of polygons, for now I have partially solved by setting off removing the stretch of the lines of the polygons "of too much".
I hope you understand what I mean.
thanks anyway for the interest

because that solid probably does not have planar faces so a triangulation is created between the vertices that have different coordinates.
How did you create that solid? extruding a rectangle or polylinear with various vertices?
Try to use the wall that is made for that.
I do.

the problem that that is a wall, made with the wall tool!
the photo I put is a section (instrument "set section 3d") if however I move my building by putting any view (iso facing something or ruoto freely) those lines do not appear.
among other things in the same model I created other walls that do not present the same problem.. mysteries of vectorworks..

it would be easier if you used the "crea viewport section" command, which is a dynamic object and that does not force you to do all the maneuvers you do - unless you want to do special processing.

You're right, but that makes me a little problem. .
the student version is that designer and so I have the command you say but I use vectorworks with the basic scheme because if one day I will have to buy it I will be able to take the basic version spending less and think if in the future switch to the architect or designer version.
I know.

I know.
However in the architect there is- and I must say that the extra expense is worth it- there are a lot of useful things that in the basic are not there. I suggest you work with the architect.

It is not that by dissecting the wall this is converted into generic solid... ?
it's true that the basic version is the cheapest, but don't give up the tools of architect!! :-)
I do.

Thanks again lory.b, no wall is "muro", I don't know exactly what it was supposed to be.
on the basic version vs designer I have my theory but it would take a while, maybe in another post, let's just say that I really appreciate the fact that I can model what I want without being bound to parametric objects.
