My name is davide and I have been working for a few years as a mechanical designer on my own.

My client asked me to carry out training activities on reading mechanical drawing, tolerances etc.
according to you for such an activity what time cost can I ask?

Training lessons according to my point of view need more or less the cost of design, little less. so if for example projects to 30€/h you will go to teach for 25€/h.

I would ask twice: a well-made training activity takes a lot of time to prepare lessons (make a lesson program, find examples, make slides, etc.)

I agree! Moreover, in a training activity it is asked to share the skills accumulated in years of work and study.

I used to travel around 70-80, even if you probably need to prepare arguments, maybe dispenses, the work, if one-time, is not limited to only hours of attendance.

In the past I have been asked for quotes for technical training, on some niche topics I admit it, but the figures were well higher.
about 100 euro/hour including material, slides, practical activities and training evaluation tests.
to me it happened to prepare material for internal training and the time it takes to structure it a minimum decently is a lot (attention that much of the material you might want to use could be covered by copyright)

for training activities you can expect packages of “n” lesson days to 500-600 euros/day, possibly to be adjusted with a discount on the total for a more days offer. the cost could be lower if the topics covered are basic, so no special knowledge is required.
to make a comparison, 25 / 30 euros is how much pays a high school student for an hour of repetition, where few teachers prepare slides or various presentations.. .
in the quotation, better describe well what are the topics covered in the lessons with a list as detailed as possible and their purpose not to disappoint expectations.

The more the models are overwhelmed, the more they should be worth, right?

It also depends on whether it's a tantum or repetitive activity: who does thirty times the same course has a way to cushion much better the preparation costs of the course, and therefore can offer a lower price.

Well from a certain point of view I would say yes, but the price does the market... and it always depends on the customer budget.

In any case, I chose not to devalue my work, and I think I have placed reasonable goals. I gave myself a tot of time to gear, and I have more or less in mind the amount of what I would like to earn. I would also have in mind the hours I would like to work... but I can't have control over all these things. :roflmao:...you navigate trying never to lose sight of the goal. ..because there's no other lockdowns at the moment. .
