how does an array not weigh

Hello everyone, I kindly ask for lumens for the autocad array. I would like to fill the roof of several buildings with shaped tiles (I would make the render on 3dsmax and vray) but obviously the design becomes very heavy and unmanageable. If I do the insertion by external reference and the dupils do not weigh much, but I do not visualize it when amount in 3dsmax (probable that I mistake something) exists the system to duplicate objects without giving weight? I don't make a copy of the tile with max because I don't understand anything about how it aligns with the falde, I'm much easier with autocad.

If you block a tile and then make the block array you should earn a lot by weight. I mean the weight of the file, because if the problem is the weight of the representation (load of the video card) you don't do much.

hi, when I used autocad, now I use revit, for the roofs I built a 3d model of tile and placed it on the falde of the roof and then I filled it with the array.
after the only one in a single block that I then cut out along the sides of the layer with the command: I don't remember anymore(x-ref cut) ,I went from autocad 2005 to revit 7, so it's been a little years.
anyway in the end they didn't weigh much on the file
I attach an image of those times, model 3d autocad, make with accurender inside autocad
the various types of tiles I had created in dwg I had placed them here in cad3d on the roofs of revit

r sta per roberto, 66 is the year, the one you see in the avatar is a gsxr 750, when you want to use the command in English in your autocad in Italian as long as you have the low indent: _bind.

the command bind nn can be recalled to keyboard, with autocad in Italian you have to open the window of external references, right click on the xref to "bindare" and join
