how often are the versions of solidworks coming out?

are user solid edge and work in a company
and I wanted some
information about who tried both solidworks and solid edge
usually in the company we use solid edge but the company we have
Inglobed went to solidworks.
now arises the problem solid edge or solidworks?
with if I stayed in version 20 because
the menus of the new versions do not piss me at all
then between installing solid edge st2 and switch to solidworks
I think there's little difference.
Who gives me some pros and cons?
with solid edge exit 2 versions of the program per year with solidworks
Is it the same or is it one a year?

One a year, plus five service packs.
each annual version produces files that are not readable from the previous ones, those that remain compatible with the major version from which they derive.
