how to turn a surface into .ipt files

Good morning to all, I am new in this wonderful forum..
I'd like to ask a question I can't find a solution. .
I have a file (surface) that I have to place inside an overall (idw) to make a planting.
I noticed that when I plant the file (surface) does not appear. . .
What do I do? I remember that there was a procedure to turn the file into ipt... but I don't remember the procedure!

Sorry again... Now the detail appears to me in the table, but the colors do not appear within the detail. . Why? I attach the photo of the detail in 3d and the photo of the detail inside the table.. .

You should have your file to try to give you an answer.. .

I know that inventor is not consistent with the surfaces that come from files created with other software. have you tried to create solid with partial success or tried to repair the surfaces? try to suppress that operation to return to the initial state.
