Good morning to all, it's too long I want to change...
I'm 40 years old, I've been a designer for about 15 years, after a past of workshop as a turning pointer and warehouse/representative in tool shop, but it's been a while since there's been no more I'm behind a desk.. .
what I ask you is: but is there a job after the designer??? or better, with the skills that the designer has, in what can reinvent itself? ? ? ,
I wonder why, in my opinion, the designer is a good job that gives you satisfaction and makes you use your mind but... for me it is a static profession in the sense that you are there, in front of the pc to turn the mouse... Sometimes I get up to check the material in the workshop to use what you have in the house, it happens rarely to go to the client to make reliefs but the chair does it as a master.
I designed carpentry as design development designs, industrial washing plants and petrochemical type furnaces/torches for refineries.. . .
What do you want?
is a question that I ask for myself but also to see what would do who is more years of me and therefore more "head on shoulders" or who is younger with more entertainment. . .

hi, much depends on the reality where you are working. If you work in a big company you would hardly be able to change your role/mansion unless the same has some open position. after 15 years of design/design you may be offered as a technical/commercial agent. I believe that you have experience in order to be able to support an external trade and give answers to the purely technical questions that customers make in the phase of purchase/treatment. Anyway, I would avoid the commercial agent if you never had any experience. In addition to being brought for this work, we must have a solid foundation, especially nowadays given the variability of the commerician.
What are the possibilities in the reality where you're working? Should you change company or just job?

I throw down the first things that come to mind....

machine tool programmer (learn a pair of cams and gcodes)
technical assistance (any foreign language)
installer of plants (as above)
maintenance plants

finished the studies I started with about 6 years as a non cnc turning pointer in a calandre construction company, a few years of warehouse in utensileria (sector that I still like) where I also took the license of the bed to today still valid then, after it closed, I reinvented myself drawing, initially in carpentry where I developed drawings for laser cutting, then as a designer/projector of industrial washing plants
where I work there is no possibility of change, you are there and you stay there, that of the technician for sale and therefore not representative it intrigues me but I do not know how to propose me and to whom to propose me, I live at home (nord of monza) so of companies are there but how can I know if this figure exists in a company? and then it is enough to write on the job dediderara: technical for sale?
