Bye to all,
during the study of the inventor demo I found very useful the rules present in the ilogic panel. I used to create a cylindrical part, which I use as a base for the construction of pneumatic pistons.

to vary the diameter of the hole, for convenience named "tree", vary a series of quotas that define the size of the housing of seals placed to avoid air leaks.

This is what I managed to create without too much difficulty.

the variable "shaft" contains a list of values, which I couldn't do in solidworks

when I amount the part together, as an ilogic component, I also have the option to choose the measurement of the variable "shaft" before placing the part.

I did some tests using equations, but beyond the construct if I didn't go.

I ask you experienced users of solidworks if you can achieve something similar even in swx right.
I hope I haven't confused you with probably incorrect terms.

cordial greetings

you have to use part configurations, created from a data table, which is basically an excel sheet. when creating the table you can choose which parameters to insert. you will have a line for each configuration, whose name is in the first column. After completing the fields with all the values of the various odds, get out of the table and swx automatically creates the configurations of your component.

Okay, I threw myself on the data tables, not bad. question: can one table be inserted ? thank you

ussignur, to put in the configuration data table with inventor all that papiello?
I admit I don't know if in that case I walked the road less suitable:). I think it's possible to use tables in inventor, but in that case I didn't think about it much. my bad!

a part, a table.. .

with that table you can configure practically everything you see in the tree of the model history: suspension/activation of functions, quota value, activation of equations between quotas, final feature conditions, colors, transparency etc. etc.
Isn't that enough?

Why would you want more tables? I don't know what's escaping you, because you're definitely missing something in the configuration of swx :tongue parts:

from what I understand, this ilogic allows to configure variables even to "grades", if you pass the term.

in the sense, if the variable "a" is between 20 and 40, the variable "b" is 10, if "a" is between 40 and 60 b becomes 20, if "a" is between 60 and 80 b assumes the value of the variable c elevated to the square, etc. etc.

It is possible to do the same with if using the if function in the variable table, but if things are complex, expressions of length are such as to be unmanageable. time ago I tried to generate all the various cases of htd pulleys (with spondine or without, with mozzetto, etc) such that inserting the value of the step and the number of teeth generated the right pulley: I left to lose half of the work for above limits of complexity.

This ilogic seems to me a nice tool, and sincerely I do not know if there is a similar function in swx: I don't think the variable table and configurations can do the same with the same agility.

at the end ilogic seems to me a configurator, in swx the equivalent is driveworks present in the express version with the basic license. I never used it, though, so I can't give feedback.

in solidworks there is also the configuration publisher that maybe can do something similar, I am unable to say anything because never used it.

then with the tables you can do everything and more the problem is to find pieces that will then be reused many times to justify the time lost to process the tables.
the most functional thing according to me is to create a configuration table in the piece and connect certain values to an external table, where one can make the various formulas, validate data, do "ifs" etc.

also excell allows conditional operation in its cells (see if it is = if Italian
example: if(g20*h20=0;";g20*h20). would be: if the prod.g20*h20=0 then leave the blank cell, otherwise do the product.
But I have never tried in the swx configuration tables, so to those who have bisign of these operations I let test.
