Good morning.
I am studying the structural behaviour of a bridge pile subject to impact of a truck.
the schematization of the model I am performing it modeling the pile with beam elements. I would like to schematize the shock, of the vehicle as a material point with a certain speed and a certain mass, which hangs on the beam (pila).
to study this behavior I will use an implicit nonlinear dynamic analysis.
the problem is this:
I can't shape the point, assigning it mass and speed and I can't therefore shape the impact.
Can you help me? maybe even with other examples from you made on other structures.
