import image to create path

a greeting to all,
I am a super hobbyist who likes to draw and make my toys through friezes and cnc lathes. (I'm a modelist) I attach two photos for pure satisfaction after so much work.
I have known for about a year this spectacular program I use often.
I need to create a path on a sketch plan 3 d of some order of a boat and then draw changes.
I have the original plans from executive drawing in pdf format, so you can want to save the various image formats (tiff jpeg etc).
I would be useful to be able to create the sketch of the orderly retracing the path of the image, a recalculation to understand;
Is it possible to import an image on a sketch plane? on solid edge you could also do sw?

Yes, and typically to find these banal commands just navigate quickly in the menus . . .
sketch/image tools/ tools of sketch.

It is a really trivial thing I had predicted that I am a fleece, but it should be pointed out that for the command to be visible in the sketch tools it is necessary to generate any sketch otherwise generating only new sketch is not made clickable. This is obviously something you know very well, but for me, that I did not know, the thing made me look for hours the command in all the menus without finding it. perfect, I learned another one.
