Import Problem Objects

Good morning, everyone!
First of all compliments for the forum, it is really one of the best in circulation. Now I would like to ask you a question probably stupid for many of you, but for me that I am moving the first steps with archicad is revealing a nice little problem...the problem is this: when I go to import objects downloaded from the web in archicad, I have no difficulty, or are already in *.gsm format or if they are in *.3ds the amount through the add-on downloaded specifically from the graphisoft site. the problem arises when I go to insert these objects into a project: or only the solid "without colors" is inserted (I don't know how to say, pass the term, thanks :smile or correctly insert the object, but making it more "flat" from a point of view of colors, shades and reflections. how to solve this problem (if so you can call it)? thanks in advance to all, I hope I have not done damages since I am not very practical of forums and related :biggrin:. is a problem of objects, which are not set correctly. to ovviare you should go down of gsm language, which is why there is also a free guide around the network. but in this case: good luck.. .

....I think I have the same problem with new objects downloaded from the internet....in fact I downloaded from the internet some items to import in archicad 14.
in the folder of an object, for example a sofa, there are files in format : .gsm and together there is a folder: maps that contains all the jpeg of this object... once I insert the object in archicad, I view it completely gray, and I can't let him associate the various jpg. In fact, even in view 3d and in visualizing the object devoid of texture, while a sofa with the texture of the fabric should appear...
I would like to know exactly where I have to copy jpg to be properly associated. I can't understand where I'm wrong! I prvato reading forums to activate the ac material voice but instead of gray I see the black object. Would you help me by pointing out the steps I have to follow to make the object appear properly with its materials? I am not very experienced in archicad.... thank you

to have no problems it would be necessary to find objects in gsm format. conversions often generate problems of materials, segmentation, triangulation and general performance.
at the limit, with archicad 16, you can transform the imported element into form. and maybe save it again as an object.
