impossible sweep?

Hello everyone

I would like to make a sweep running on a plug with the generating curve always parallel to the xy plane.
It seems to me to remember that with v4 it could be done, on v5 I tried several times but I failed.
attached a small file with what I managed to do (but it's not okay)
and sections of how it should run the profile.

It is not very clear what you ask.
I have seen your example and the construction of the sweep is correct, but the thorns you would like is on an almost orthogonal plane at the driving curve.
with these conditions it seems not possible to make a sweep.

In fact, with this function one cannot create a surface that passes through the sections indicated by me, even using vertical thorns or other.
an escamotage is to use the multi section surface function, here you have the desired result keeping in mind that to obtain greater precision you need to increase the number of sections.

However I have the withoution that you confuse, the concept of profile, generating curve (or guide) and thorns, but above all you are making confusion between the last two curves.
If you want a superfiche that has all the sections that are parallel to the xy plane, just assign with thorns the z axis.
or as you use a sweep with reference surface, you can assign the xz plan for example as a reference surface.
