impossible to explode individual surfaces

I imported a dwg on rhinoceros. I have selected a series of surfaces that I would like to explode but the program says impossible to explode individual surfaces. What to do?

if they are single surfaces those cannot explode, they are single entities
If you have more surfaces, but by selecting one, you can all be grouped.

Sure, pull out the contour of your superfice (boundary) and project it on a surface.
