I answer briefly: minimum experience of 6 months at a carpentry (grigliati-recinzioni-structure metallic medium/small).programme for drawing autocad(2d) and excel.
personally arrival from pro-e experience and now use solidwork. I don't know the tekla or similar program but either with pro-e(by adding welding module) or with s.w. do small structures, delete ect stairs for me it's fine.
I am using s.w. and with the welding module I created frames-scale-recinctions ect with so much of tables for cutting.saluti

some consideration on the survey results.
Most use advanced design tools, and not the usual 2d autocad. This contrasts with my personal experience, but it is probably due to the fact that those who compare on this forum, have desire and therefore ability higher than the average.
structural detailing seems totally ignored despite the promotional campaign of the autodesk
extremely negative the result of prosteel, especially when compared with the old survey.
