ok, but at the end in any case I will be forced to divide into groups as they are the types of beams... n/n crit or sigma/sigmacr.
today instead I had finished writing a sketch of the optimization list...I tried to test it...and it makes me mistake on a string...the absurd thing is that the string is syntactically right...but obviously it will reconnect to some error in the prep7. I need to see what the mistake is.
cmq the list without the part of the optimization is fine.


but a curiosity: but how many of you know how to use classic ansys well and the wb?... how are you put arturo?

I can only use the classic... even discreetly. I have the most pale idea of how the wb works.

I think that to understand how the program works, correct errors, and keep the "situation" under control. .the classic mode is great, but I know if it is better the wb... I see that several of you use only that.
Maybe it was better to start from the wb and then go to the classic...boh.. .

As for the difference between "classic" ansys and the wb, I always say that the first is an analysis tool while the second is a tool to design.
I sincerely learned (of course only the things I care about) before using classic ansys: at first I used it for structural checks of machine components (not for structures). then I discovered ansys wb and I have to say that it is very fast, it interfaces perfectly with all software cad and for the design it is very utlissimo.
currently use ansys (classic) for dynamic analysis (transitional study, harmonic analysis, vibration modes etc...).
cmq since you are still a student and so you have some extra time, I suggest you use ansys (classic).

I have some doubts that we can optimize the structure considering it as a whole, I see it not so simple... a bit strange. Then I may be wrong.
