Hi guys I use different catia v5 software (since 2010) is my favorite then solidworks, autocad and think design
I've been interviewing and they tell me I don't know pro-and they can't take me.
but how long does it take to switch from software to another? ?
for me is an excuse.....you want what do you think? to pass from catia v 5 to solidworks I put a 2/3 weeks.
but the pro-e is another world? another software? ?

hi, I did the reverse path, that is to pass from pro-e to catia v6.
there are many variables in play, catia is very used to model single parts, pro-e / creo has its strength (compared to catia) on the assemblies and project management.
at the level of modeling parts are decidedly different, catia is a multibody, while creo is a feature based, you can do everything with both, but obviously change the approach.

that you "unload" in interviews because you don't have a background with pro-e, it's a fool to me, already the only fact that you have a background with a second cad, opens you much more mind and flexibility of adaptation, and indeed you can bring new design approaches to the company.

Of course, if they are looking for a "ready to race" designer/modeler, it's another pair of sleeves, but also one who says he can use pro-e, it can be a problem in this sense.
