hello to all
I happened this, I have a 2010 64-bit sw, and I was about to install the service pack that passed me from sp 0 to sp5 but during the installation this appears to me:
some files that need to be updated are currently in use: msiexec.exe, the options are close and try to revive or not ask but with both the service pack does not go on.
I don't know what to do because the file in question is just the installation of the service pack, if I cut it from the task manager that doesn't allow me to install it.
I don't know how to do it, I would do it without but 2010 without sp is terrible
thanks for the collaboration I hope to be in the right section

...I would introduce myself in the appropriate section before the "bodies" get angry!:finger:

Please note that to install service packs with 2010 you need to have the license in maintenance until the service pack is released.
I better explain: if you were in subscription until the service pack 3.0 is released, you can only install the service pack 3.0 and not the 4.0 or the 5.0
during the solidworks update check this data and in case you should not update.
I don't think it's a mistake because of this control, I'd ask you to tell us what you want to install.
You also need to turn off antivirus and firewalls during the update.

Perhaps it is also necessary to temporarily disable the uac? I don't know if swx 2010 is already certified for win7.
2010 is certified for win7, although I do not remember if the service pack 0.0 is or if the certification was given to the service pack 1.0.

nothing now tells me that because of windows installer can't move on.. Does it seem possible?

ah do not know the computer is clean, with seven just installed and only installed solidworks.

Can you download the service pack again? will not be the corrupt update file or with any problem?
