Hello everyone
As in the company where I work nobody cares about it, I would like to try to see if you can improve the system we work with.
In practice, we make steel furniture for the naval sector.
as a design program we use microstation v8i (we are also beginning to use solid works, but for other purposes), as a management program sap.
our work is done so: there is a drawing together, in which we create a cartiglio, and above this is made a table, in which all the various codes of the components that make up the furniture of the assembly are inserted.
l together has a code a005000001 and the components can have different codes depending on whether they are of purchase or internal production, for example a002000002 or a002000003 if of internal production or v003000001 if of purchase.
once the plico is completed, in order to send the same to production, we use the know-how to create a distinct, containing the various components present in the distinct, and always through sap is therefore also managed the commercial part, how to give the prices to the components etc.
when therefore a furniture is sent in production, a paper is made containing the drawing together and the various drawings that compose it, so every time you have to make a piece and maybe in the future reuse it, you have to print one to one the various drawings that compose it, and with plics from even more than 50 drawings, open every drawing and print it takes a lot of time, so I have come to mind one thing: to automate the printing of the plics.
I'll explain. I would like to see if you can create a procedure, possibly also the use of other programs, as well as microstations, which allows you to automatically print a whole piece, simply by typing the general code of furniture.
the procedure we follow:
1) we make dgn drawings of the pieces
2) these designs need a unique code each; these codes we create them simply through an excel file, in which we assign a code for each element, and this code is obtained simply by a number that grows, e.g.: a002000002, a002000003, etc.
3) each of these codes is then created and activated in sap (we say that to the technical office this part would not serve, it serves to the commercial office, in order to manage the prices of both the single pieces and the entire furnishings, moreover also serves for the speech of the spare parts in case of guarantees)
4) for each drawing together, there is a folder where various information is included, such as furniture code, furniture name, date creation, etc., and a table (or separate) is created containing the various codes that make up the furniture of the design (specific that we create a new design for each furniture or component assembly, we do not use the same file to save more designs)
5) this distinction is then written on sap, so always to allow the commercial department to have a final price for furniture, a list of the components that compose it, and therefore in the case of spare parts know already what to order.
6) a paper paper is printed and given to the production office (workshop) which will produce the various pieces and assemble them (this specific piece that does not come into the hands of the commercial; the commercial office does everything through knowledge.)
7) the various dgn designs created are placed in a network archive, divided by type (axis, components).

Is it possible to get that?
