Inventor 2011 vs 2008

Bye to all,
on a location of our office we want to keep together both inventor 2008 (to manage the archive drawings current, at the moment we don't have time to manage the conversion of files from one version to another, which in the past has given us numerous problems) that inventor 2011 to continue with the new projects (for the operating ones that do not use solidworks).
at the moment we have found the problem that the two Versilians together do not coexist, in the sense that 2008 does not want to open, or better try the procedure of opening the program then by mistake.
by consulting the online guide the program supports two different banners on the same pc, which you know is to set something specific?

I also have the same problem on the laptop, while always having updated programs.( s.o. win xp sp3 both on the fixed and on the laptop )
if I close the day (or session ) with the 2010 reboot not leaving.
I have to turn on 2009, turn it off and restart 2010.
I have not yet been able to understand why, but knowing that with this procedure I leave, I do not go completely.
On the other hand every year, for the small amount of a few thousand heur, I have the updated software.

we tried to uninstall 2008 and reinstall it with PC administrator, but nothing to do.... .
