isodraw replacement

hi to all, I would like to know if there are valid alternatives to the isodrow 3d software we use to make technical illustrations (explos/montages etc) starting from 3d models (step), manipulating the model and exporting in 2d isometric view. isodraw is spectacular but with very high costs (version 3d). I wanted to know if someone in the field of technical communication (handmade use etc) found a good quality solution with more contained prices.

but I think at cost level you don't save.

hi, thanks for the info, but we work with adobe illustrator, what you need is a program that amounts files step and then let you export illustrations in .ai, in the tutorials you sent me I see that they are used custom sw cad for corel draw, correct?

no, there is an internal converter with the possibility of extensions for other features; per minute 0.50 of the first video see the importable cad 3d formats directly.
in the past I have realized most technical catalogs for different Italian companies and not of the power transmissions industry using coreldraw (from version 4 to 18) in the two-dimensional field in combination with corel vein (programming but not available) and indesign, but then I imported and processed the 2d (dwg). the equivalent of illustrator, which I have but not use, is coreldraw but, while the first is very strong in graphic illustration, coreldraw is particularly strong in the use of graphics in the technical field having functionality, even programming, to manage dynamic links between excel archives and coreldraw. this catalogue with dimensions in mm, it was also made in the American version with inch dimensions; this was possible using automatic coreldraw features that allowed you to convert all dimensional values of the designs in a few minutes with zero errors; with illustrator, manually, it would take several days and extensive controls. see also this other example.
coreldraw use it now to create multi-level dimensional drawings that, through our proprietary configurator assembles the final dimensional illustration design according to the configuration carried out; see pdf attached.

thanks to the info, I have seen that in the coreldraw technical suite there is already a tool (

xvl studio corel edition) to import 3d files but not .step (the one provided by our customers), while the plug in xvl studio 3d cad corel edition, imports many types of cad files (including step) is has other additional 3d features. the second would do to my case and in fact I downloaded the trial version of coreldraw technical suite + xvl studio 3d cad corel edition, and I will start testing it. I have seen the price of coreldraw technical suite and falls into the budget, but do not find indications of the cost of the plug in 3d ( xvl studio 3d cad corel edition), do you have any indication of the cost? I downloaded the version of corel technical suite with xvl studio 3d cad corel edition (directly from page xvl studio 3d cad corel edition trial version) but once installed and open corel designer, the function import 3d is not active and in the plugin section is not present xvl studio 3d cad corel edition but gives me the possibility to purchase it (4980€). qui there is the comparison between the basic version contained in corel designer and the paid add-on, too expensive for features that probably do not serve your purpose.
Since you have the ability to open u3d or iges files, you may try to convert your .steps into these formats and see if all the properties of an assembly are maintained.
