Hello, everyone.
I have a problem with the plates.
I have to make a box.
a first profile made with base flange tab and then flange of the edge to close it.
It's something I can do with solid edge, but I can't figure out how to do it with solidworks.
I put the pictures so you should understand better.
in image 2 (from solid edge) you see how, by making the flange, the sheet part with the hole is automatically cut.
with two-fold corner I then join (image 3).
in image 5 (from solidworks), instead, something different happens.
image 6 is the result to which I must arrive.
Can someone help me?
Thank you.

after making the flange do the function Spigoloattach sempe files to allow you to see the options inserted and do not oblige other users to rebuild with arbitrary parameters

probably when you create the flange you have to select external bending in the flange position pane.
then make the closing edges.
I did an example, see if it's okay....

making external bending must review the model because that flange would cross.
I would do in flat inferior as flat sheet and then 4 flanges of the edge (making it on the same function is indifferent the type of fold) closing then with the spigoli function

xxfast, update the version in the profile because opening your file tells me future version

allego my version
there are 2 configurations:
1 with locking via edge function
2 with modification of edge flange sketches

I tried and I can close and get a result similar to what I get with solid edge, but there are problems.
in image 1 (solid edge) the closure is perfect.
with solidworks, instead, you see that there are still cracks.
the situation improves slightly if as type of edge I choose head.

Okay.
I've seen the voice pop open bending area.
I don't.
can it be that different software and different algorithms may not lead to identical results?

I think so.
However in the workshop I doubt that you get a result like what you get with solidedge.

in my file the edge function closes as in solidedge

I forgot one thing (now solid edge I don't use it almost anymore).
in solid edge there is the treatment voice, to manage the closure or not of the groove.
Is there something like that in solidworks?

in your file, with edge function, the groove remains open.
in solid edge, choosing the treatment, you can decide whether to leave it open (as in your file) or close it perfectly.
now I try with a corner drain.

I saved in step the file of solid edge and imported into solidworks and reconstructs it perfectly.
I'll ask another question, as long as I'm here.
the model ladder.
I do not find, in solidworks, the options to improve display.
image 2 is from solid edge.
image 3 is the same open model with solidworks.

Close

in reality will always remain a little light that will be closed with welding
on I find, in solidworks, the options to improve display.
