I would like to ask for big project management advice

I am currently designing a multifunctional complex,
tower 20 floors+ 3 lines, cinema library, shops
with furniture, and everything. .

all heavy enough
about 40 mb of files.. .

work has become very slow. .
Would you advise me how to optimize the processing speed?
Thank you. .

dividing the project into many files is joining them in a unique file with shared coordinates

hmmm. Could you please explain more in detail?

if I divide the project into many files.. then how do I jump from one view to another.. plants projects.. Sections?

Hi.
40 mb of files don't seem much to me
with a qcore from 500 € to 2,40 ghz and 4 gb ram with revit 2009
I managed a set of 20 houses.
from 25 mb each
Maybe you just need to replace the machine
by not making the crust
now that revit 2010 is 64 bit
buy yourself with 1200 € a 64-bit machine and i7 and go like a chip
I now with a 64-bit machine managed a complex of 64 houses as above
+ 40 terraced villas, a golf course and golf club

64-bit?
I've got 32. a goo with similar characteristics
Maybe it's a little overload. .

64-bit PCs go faster?
Are there any disadvantages of 1 64bit?
Thank you.

It's not 64-bit pcs, it's programs.
with "64 bit" means a memory management with 64-bit addresses, instead of 32. the only (well, not recently though) advantage is that with a 32-bit system you can not have more than 4gb of ram, because with 32-bit you can write memory locations up to that limit. if you need more rams, you have to switch (by absurd, even with the same pc) to a 64-bit operating system and a 64-bit program.
if you lose even one of the three features (so-64bit + 64bit + pc software with more than 4gb ram) you get no advantage.

However, 40mb is small enough as a file...I manage files from a couple of giga without needing to resort to 64bits (cat word though). if with 40mb you're slow, it's probably not file management, but graphics rendering. I would point out on a video card replacement... what do you have? is it set correctly?

say that with 64 bit window on a 64 bit machina
you no longer have ram problems (the 32 bit sees at most 4 giga)
He sees how much you put
I got a double xeon processor machine
but revit sees only one
while 3ds max sees both of them and goes really strong
as I told you with the 64 bit and 8 giga ram with revit 2010 to 64 bit load without problems all that bit of stuff and that is the 64 villas etc.

to return to your work
Now I don't know if you've done everything in the same rvt file.
But you can duplicate it several times and in each copy remove the extra buildings
you will have a rvt with the tower, a rvt with the theater etc.
then you can open a new file and insert the various files
from the menu insert-> link revit
works like autocad x-rifs
plants sections and prospectuses are new and contemplate all buildings
the changes you can make on the original files

ps.
deactivate shadows in prospectuses and keep windows closed
from the view->close hidden elements menu you will see that you will be faster

hmm. Thank you.

but all pcs (well I talk about the latest generation ones) can support 64 bits?
Does 64 bit have any limitations? I don't know.
office 2007, autocad and revit and photohsop should all be 64 bits if I have a 64 bit system?

32 bit programs can also be installed on 64 bits
you create two programs folders, on my I have programs and x86 program
anyway with a 64 bit PC and in my case with 2 processors (8 cpu)
in the operation of windows I configured the use of 3ds max
on two processors and six cpus and I'm rendering an animation
768x576 (pal) with 1 minute and 20 sec per frame and on the remaining 2 cpus of 1 processor I'm working with revit 2010 without problems
of course I connected 2 videos
since revit only sees a processor I also tried to open 2 times revit
One on a processor the second on the other processor, can be the same file
and send them both to render or if you do an animation on one from frame 1 to 100 and on the other from frame 101 to 200 halving production times

a little complicated:)
thanks cmq for the help

but if installed on a 64-bit pc
32-bit revit works cmq?
Do I miss anything?
Thank you.

if you install programs that are 32-bit and 64-bit as revit 2010 that I have automatically install in the version for the operating system
64-bit revit installed in the 32-bit machine installed the 32-bit version
However, I have 32-bit programs on 64-bit and work smoothly.
revit 2008 and 2009 are only 32 bits I believe but if in phase of rendering you require more than 4
gb of ram managed by a 32 bit if you are on a 64bit pc with multiple rams you can use it all anyway (I think, not having direct experience)
