I have to design a folded sheet structure (like the case of a pc) and I would like to lighten the structure, creating large holes on the surface.
the question is: is there a criterion for dimensionalizing these lightening geometries? or banally create holes, sunshades without any principle?

hi albertz are violinox ex retired cartoonist. the relicing of the (cases of a pc) it is necessary to take into consideration before carrying out random openings the cooling requirements for the electronic composts that there are inside example:the mother sced, the transformer, the hd disc etc. where all these components need heat dissipation. then you have to consider the relative air intake and exhaust openings through suction and exhaust vents, depending on the amount of heat that must be dissipated, you will perform the relative openings in correspondence of these components. prepare also the relative holes for the assembly of the components .with the laser you can get all the profiles you want from the holes, to the sunshades, etc. to all your geometric fantasy you want. keep in soderation that the distance between one hole and the other can be two or three tenths of a millimeter, so give the vent to your creativity. hi and good work

as I will not have to take into account dissipations or anything else (the part that interests me to drill is a work volume in which there are no parts that warm up), it seems to me to understand that I can give vent to the fantasy, perhaps making a quick verification of static moments (robust structure) x avoid that you bend or robe so...
